Have seen two window fixing methods.
One using bonding and aluminium alloy strips, the other using a rubber seal.

is this because the doors and or windows are different?

Early landy's from series to defender td5's had the alloy and seal method. Some late td5's had the so called one piece door with the rubber seal as fitted to tdci's.

Being relatively new to defender maintenance I put My td5 into a Hull based Defender customisation garage.
The rear door was changed when the car was resprayed.
The door has two joins in the skin so assume this is a pre 2002 style door.
The glass was also changed without my permission losing the high level brake light.

am I right in assuming the glass is different shape ?

Sorry for late reply, I don't think they forgot. I told them I wanted it and was asked if I wanted it fitted. It never happened.
