Hi folks,
one of those five minute jobs turning into a nightmare. Door handle was buggered, and I assumed that because the button kept sticking in, that this was why the door wouldn't shut properly. After taking off the card and finding most of the metal work in a pile at the bottom of the door, a few taps with a screwdriver making the rest fall out also, I was dismayed when after fitting the handle the door still won't shut. The problem seems to be that although the lock engages to the first click with the receiver on the pillar, (and shuts but can be rattled back and forward) it won't get to the second click and lock. I've taken off the reciever and shoved it towards the door but that's made no difference. Do I drill the pillar so the receiver can move further out and make it easier to lock?
I've checked the throw of the door, and it's ok.
Aararggggh.
