Hi all first time poster here. Though have found this site very useful for info over and over again.
My 300tdi defender 90 was stolen and smashed up a few months back fast forward to now and I've just started fixing her back up. All the damage was to the rear end, tub bent in rear crossmember member bent etc.
I've taken the roof, sides and tub off to give me easy access to the crossmember as the tub needs replacing anyway. The crossmember has already been replaced once before due to rot, so I ground down the welds and prised off the repair making sure not to take any more of the chassis off.
My question is when refitting the crossmember obviously I will need to put the new tub on to get the crossmember to line up and tack into place but will I also need to refit the side panels and roof to make sure everything's completely square before tacking the crossmember.
Many thanks for any help.
