P38A Rear brakes and bleeding

1. How many brake lines run over the rear axle (by the chassis and fuel tank)?

2. I followed this:
https://workshop-manuals.com/landrover/p38/70_brakes_abs/repair/brake_system_bleed/

To bleed the brakes. However the guide doesn’t get you to physically bleed the rear callipers.

Is there an occasion when you should also bleed the rear callipers? They have bleed screws on them. Thanks.

Depending on year very early cars had two pipes run to the center of the cross member and drop down to the axle and round about 97 they have one pipe that goes all the way across to feed the passenger rear.
i bled the rears on mine, i am sure it says in Rave to bleed them

Agree with Brian you have to bleed all the callipers. There is a set sequence in Rave to follow. Very important it is followed to the book or problems will occur

Thanks. Vehicle is a 99 model but with the Thor engine and 4 wheel traction control.

Bleeding the brakes every couple of years keeps the fluid fresh. Old fluid is one of the causes for calipers seizing up

The RAVE "how to" appears to be a long winded affair but is actually simple if you follow it step by step and take your time. Always works for me.
