rear axle casing

Hi guys just had the disco on the ramp for the first time since buying her last month got a few jobs to but nothing major but one thing that needs doing is the rear axle it leaking as its rusted out just above filler plug at rear now my mate is a fabricator and said he will make me a new rear diff casing and cut off old one and re weld new on to axle but thought you guys might have a better idea maybe even know if there is the parts avalible off the shelf hope you can help?

you get replacement diffpans to buy.you are better taken out the diff before cutting and welding in the new one easy job to do especially for a fabricator

i have part numbers for the britpart ones if you need them

Thanks mate have now got one on order so hopefully will put an end to oil all over the drive just got to do rear boot floor next aswell then all ready for mot in febuary
