You do realize that the 2.6 is a Mitsubishi engine don't you? That engine
was a major headache.

How so? My 92 Maz has 98K miles and is still going strong?

I used to work on them quite often. If it's a carb engine the carbs are
nightmares with a plastic-like body, choke & idle problems. I believe they
were known for head & head gasket problems also. Another thing with Mitsub
parts, they were usually a little more expensive than other jap parts. I
think the 2.6L was just in the 4x4's.

Mine is injected. I did have the head gasket replaced under warranty at 30K
miles, but haven't had any engine problems since. The worse problem I have
with it is I keep busting the CV joints in the front half-shafts but this is
probably due to abuse rather than an inherent defect.

BTW, know of any good sources for performance equipment for the pre-Ford
Mazda trucks?

Not right off hand. Sorry.
