Re-sealing Sump

Greetings guys,

Engine: 300tdi

Next week I'm removing the sump to re-seal. Any suggestions as to anything else I should do or check for while it is off?

Check it for rust and have a prod around the front and back for any soft bits hidden under paint.

The oil pickup strainer .. mine was covered in gasket sealant!

When you replace it, cleanliness and dryness are the gods to pray to!
