I have a 54 plate TD4 manual. I have been thinking of getting a remap done, but dont know if there any good. Any reports or horror storys, or people to go to and people to stay away from.

Speak to Mark at: Chip 'N' Spin - ECU Tuning. He's an approved ChippedUK dealer (mobile) and has remapped my old Passat 1.8T, girlfriends Bora V5, my current Passat 4.0 W8 and our FreeLander TD4 Sport - all with very good and reliable results.

Say I sent you... you might even wing a discount :)!

Also consider -

EGR bypass fitment (se sticky at top of page)

Roverron gizmo box.
( half the price of a remap and doesn't get wiped off by enthusiastic dealer service)

I'm with Mark, A Roverron box & egr bypass are definitely worth it at less than £250. Car Mechanics magazine ran a Rover 75 diesel estate with a Roverron synergy with no problems as have many people on here. As Mark says, won't be overwritten & easily removed & sold on ebay when you sell the car. Plenty of info from the guru himself on the following link.

Most on this Forum swear by Rover Rons products, cheaper than a re map and better results . . . . . . but hey its your call but worth checking out,he's a top man is Ron :) :) :)
