Are you sure it should have GL-4? The T-5 in my 77 Sunbird called for
ATF.

My advice may be worth what you paid for it.
 
Yup, I am sure. My Jeep has a borg warner T-5 and the owners manual
calls for GL4.

For one or two years there, AMC did call for ATF in the T-5, but then
they must have figured out it didn't work, because by 85 they had for
sure switched back to gear oil. (tenant had an 85 and his owners manual
said the same as my 86.)

I think some, like the 'world class' T-5 still call for ATF and some
rebuilders insist on it, but not stock.
