hi guys got it in november an clutch went so it was left till this week new clutch slave cylinder an fork pins not a nice job on your back in the garden in the rain but did it the only thing it seem slow pulling away not sure if thats normal as its me first p38 is there anything i get done to speed it up its a 2.5 dieasel hse 1998 :confused:
 
they are pretty sad to take off in first gear you need to give it plenty boot if you take off with little accelerator you could have a nap while it gets going . when you get it going in first is it ok ??

The throttle pedal has to move a long way for anything to happen which gives the impression of no power and there is not a lot of power below 2500rpm. You can fit a PSI Power box, that ups the performance a good bit with no risk as it just plugs in or you can go for a re-map which will involve pulling the engine ECU out which can end up causing you problems.
 
I'm with data-man, the pedal travel is immense, if you watch the american owners video on you-tube (which obviously i didn't....................) they say it is so you can drive slowly and precisely off-road. I have the plug-in box, it will never win any drag races, but will stop you feeling like you are going to be T-boned at every junction (used to have a TD5 that did that until i 'fiddled' with it ;)).

sorry,but you have the wrong car if you want to go fast...2.5tons 2.5litres..hmmmm
