Hiya Landyzone ....this is my first time on a forum. I think im the first person to introduce an up and coming problem that is about to cause untold grief to any range rover sport owner who has to remove the 6 bolts out of the front lower Subframe. Sadly it appears that the humble nut and bolt has been redesigned. It's been changed so the bolt can be forced into a hole that has no threads. (cost saving)... Oh dear.. In less than 2 years from manufacture it's probable that at best the threads will tear out of the aluminium chassis, at worst the bolts will snap. The bolts are high tensile and approx 10 inches long. Options at the moment are to purchase a new chassis but unfortunately its part of the car. I'm now surfing ebay to purchase a magic wand.. Wish me luck. Nearlydone.

Manufacturers have been doing that for quite a while, all 90/110 gearbox cross members for example.
Aluminium can be welded so I would have thought any engineering place could repair , maybe helicoil?
Pita though..

Incredibly I've found the man that bought the magic wand..
He's based in West Yorkshire.
