Range Rover / Mercedes 3 litre diesel

I have just bought an old two-door Rangie which is fitted with a 5-cylinder Mercedes diesel lump (the conversion was done about ten years or so back I think). I will be collecting it this weekend. The engine seems to run pretty sweetly, although the performance is rather sedate!

Has anyone else on here had any experience of this conversion or know who originally marketed it?
