My mate recently bought a 3.5efi 1988 (ish) bobtail which we have had to
respray, we bought it as a non runner and upon inspection the cap, rotor
and leads have seen better days so we bought some new items but the rotor
arm seems to sit up slightly and not let the dizzy cap sit flush against the
dizzy so i put the old ones back on which seem to be the same! - any
ideas? whats causing this? Faulty dizzy? wrong cap and rotor?
ANY help much appreciated!

MC.

What could have happened is that on taking the old one off yopu may have
lifted the centre shaft and upset the counterbalence weights and springs
under the pick-up.
