range rover 2.5 deisel engine cant get it to start!!!fro

i have recently just built a 2.5 deisel bmw engine in my range rover, it had a new bottom end, new bmw head gasket and cylinder head has been pressure tested and is in perfect working order. i have had all my computers sent to a lovely man in london who has checked them all out and they are all wotking perfect. i have even bought a sync mate, used all correct timing tool to lock engine off while re building, and also its just had a new deisel injector pump fitted. The pump is squirting as it should do to injectors but still will not start, my friend who is a deisel mechanic has put his snap on diagnostics on it and rpm sensor came up 0 no reading, and anti theft device came up, cleared all faults fitted new rpm sensor and still has not started we have tried to start in on brake cleaner the vehical did puff out some smoke amd ran for 3-4 seconds then stopped and just keeps cranking and cranking. we r going to put the diagnostics back on it today to see if rpm sensor is now picking up, is there any one that can. please help me or has had this problem all my computers are working as my sync mate light is going from blue to green to tell me that everything is in sync. PLEAE CAN ANYONE HELP ME...?
