Hello guys I have a random tapping noise at the front end of my landy, I did happen to notice one of the front manifold studs is snapped could this be the reason for this tapping noise? Am I safe to drive it like this until I can get it sorted?

I doubt in that case that it is anything to do with the snapped stud,
Do you get it with the engine running but with the vehicle stationary?

Yes you can’t hear it with the Bonnet open looking down on the engine, but if you bend down and put ear by the radiator you can hear it

Do you have a mechanics stethoscope or even just a plastic tube you could stick in your ear while moving the other end around where the sound seems to be coming from?
Or failing that you could put the handle of a long screwdriver or a pry bar to your ear and touch the other end to places on the engine, or elsewhere, to try and narrow it down.
Could it simply be something stuck to a fan blade or sticking in through rad vanes which is then catching the fan blades? That may be random if it changes with forward speed of the vehicle.

Thanks everyone well it has been to mechanic today for new radiator and a few other nice bits and he was like there nothing wrong with it stop worrying so for now I am going to accept what he’s saying as he knows far more about my Land Rover than I do ( he’s the one who found it for me 8 years ago bless him)
