Just picked up damaged P38 DSE auto which possibly needs a head gasket. It does not have a radio fitted and what I would like to know is if there is a differance between the unit fitted to the DSE without amp/CD and the unit my HSE which is all singing and dancing?

Are the wires fitted in the car so that I could just fit and not have to run wires from front to back? or could I just fit the head unit. I want to keep the dash looking original but not to bothered about cd or amp as I plug in my mp3 player via a cassette with wire.
