I replaced the Blaupunkt CD/Radio in my Freelander with an Alpine CDE-113BT from Halfords yesterday swopping was very simple and setup for bluetooth for phone very easy as well. However when playing a CD to setup balance and fader it became apparent that the font speakers (all 4) were not working properly, the rear speakers work perfectly. Does anyone have any ideas. I am leaning towards the polarity of the front speakers, they worked OK with the old radio but would welcome any suggestions.

When you say not working correctly what do you mean? Polarity will only affect the phasing and will only be ordable with heavy bass because they will fade each other out

The volume level of the front speakers is way below that of the rear, so much so that they are barely audible.

If they were ok before on the old unit, either you've wired it wrong or the new unit is faulty.

Try swapping the wiring for front speakers to the rear and see if it does the same.
