I had to take the battery out of my P38 Range Rover yesterday to charge it up and the radio reset and started asking for a code. As the car is second hand I didn't have the code or the 'In car entertainment' manual so went to our local Guy Salmon and got them to print out the radio code information. However the assistant gave me duff information on how to input the code into the radio and I've ended up with the 'Wait' error after attempting to put the code in with the number pad on a few occasions and realised the Wait period doubled each time! Although I have only tried a few times the Wait period seems to be taking forever to end. I have now found out how to enter the code properly using the '1' button and the manual skip buttons but can anyone advise on if there is anyway on skipping this rather stupid "Wait" punishment?

By doing exactly what it says....and don't turn off the ignition....can't remember the time out settings...but it does increase to a maximum of 30 minutes following each incorrect entry the waiting time increases up to the 30 minute maximum...and you can't turn the ignition off to either reset the timer or cancel it...you have to wait the perscribed time...tis in the manual IIRC

That is for low line radio Ant others are different. Highline will lock you out for an hour after three failed attempts even if you put the correct code in on the fourth try. Must be left switched on until it decides when to come on.
