Hi
OK I have a P38 which in general runs fine... small leak from the diesel pump and a leak from the oil cooler and that's about it! Except...
Intermittently (say 2 or 3 times a week), when I start the car, there is no power to the radio or the heater. Its a 1996 P38 with no AC - just fans, not sure if that makes any difference. Anyway, after a few minutes of driving (anything from 1 to 20 minutes), the radio and fans come back on, then they will run for ever until I stop the engine, and then 4 out of every 5 times I restart the engine, radio and fans are fine. It doesnt seem to be connected to whether the engine is cold or hot.
I have tried slapping the fusebox, wiggling the relays and kicking the ECU and so far there is physically nothing that conclusively makes it start working again. Even wiggling the ignition key makes no difference. I was wondering if there was a relay that maybe controlled this part of the circuitry? Any ideas?
Cheers
Sean
