I’m going to get rid of the snorkel because it’s rusted to **** and I have no real need for it. Because of my roll cage the original elbow doesn’t attach to the wing and I had to make a bodge with a bit of flexi hose which I’m keen to get rid of.

It wont do any harm at all, in fact you might notice an increase in power as the pipe from wing to air filter housing is to bloody small, so when I fitted my snorkle and noticed it was lacking a little on long hills I popped that same pipe off and the power (what little there was) came back again.

I would not worry about any mesh, try it and see how you get on.
