Can anyone answer a question for me?
There seems to be two different types of genuine 'alarm' from 89 - 92 with the square remote with the Land Rover logo on it. 1.) Just an alarm system. 2.) An upgrade version which looks more or less the same but it also operates the central locking. Have I got that correct?
Second question was for the techies. Is the difference between the systems just the extra kit of the rod and the actuator motor and associated wiring or is the ECU for the system fundamentally different.
The prices between the two systems seems crazy even given the extra option of the locking. The alarm new today seems to be around £180 and yet the upgrade version seems to be around £2,000 !!
Cheers, Ben.
