Hi everyone,

Happy New Year! I'm dealing with a puzzling oil leak on my 300 TDI engine. Here's the situation:

Initial troubleshooting:
- I suspected the sump initially and resealed it
- Even with no engine oil in the motor, I'm still getting residual oil drips
- I've confirmed it's definitely engine oil, not diesel or other fluids
- I've stripped the engine down to the main seal and removed it
- However, I'm still unable to determine if the main seal was the source of the leak. The area behind the seal seems fairly dry but the back if the seal and gasket was wet.

The leak appears to be originating from behind the flywheel housing and engine. I've attached several photos for reference.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue or can offer guidance on where else I should look?

Flywheel housing to block gasket?
Does the 300 rear main bearing cap have T seals like the 200?
