Hi all.
My boss has a Puma which had the UJ fail and did a fair bit of mangling. I've managed most of the repair but for the life of me I cannot trace where a torn cable runs from.

It's a 3 wire cable, blue & orange (maybe red). Yellow & what maybe blue (possible green) and black. After the prop destruction it ended up down the drivers side of the box. A connector was ripped off at the same time and the colours match so I'm assuming they were once connected. Another assumption is that it may be diff lock related because there is nothing in the dash when it's engaged. (Ignition on but engine not running)
I'll include a couple of pics.
I'm generally not a mechanic so if anyone knows exactly where this plug goes it would be helpful if you explain it as if talking to a 5 year old unfamiliar with LR engines.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Your boss was lucky if other than the shaft that is the only damage, a friend of mine was not so when his UJ which had been singing for a bit gave up and the flailing shaft punched a hole through the side of the gearbox!

Possibly the speed transducer, located behind the parking brake drum. Diagrams are for the 2012 on 2.2 Puma. (Earlier 2.4 might be different).

Thanks for this reply, it looks promising.
Unfortunately I'm nowhere near the blasted thing for two days now but it does at least look like you've pointed me in a possible direction .
I'm very grateful for you taking the time to help. Thanks again.
