Pulls when accelerates

Hey ya'll!

I have a 2001 Excursion, V10, 4WD
It has been drivin glike crap lately...

When I hit the gas the suv pulls to the right. The harder I hit the gas
the harder it pulls to the right. When I let off the gas the pulling
stops. On the highway when I correct the steering, it then is like I and
driving on flat tires and I have very little control and have to swerve
around in my lane to gain control again...

Help, Ford tells me there is nothing wrong, it is just a large vehicle...

First check the tire pressure if ok then rotate your tires in an X pattern
front to RF to LR and LF to RR. If that does not work take it and have an
alignment check. If I was a betting person it is the tires.

Thank you for the ideas,

I had an alignmnet check done and the alignment was good. I had the tire
installers rotated the tires twice now, once front to rear and once in an
x pattern and the problem has not changed.

Considering that you wagon has a few ponies, I would suggest that you
are just getting torque steer.

I am unfamiliar with your vehicle, but I can tell you that my
landrover with a paltry 2.5 TDI pulls to one side under heavy load.

This is just the effect of unequal length front drive shafts twisting
slightly different amounts which is felt as torque through the
steering wheel.

Of course if you are not in 4wd when this is occuring, then just
dismiss this as a deluded rant.

If the tech did not check, look at the ball joints and tie rods for
excessive play.
