pto????

hi, ive found a pto on ebay ( just the gear box attactchment ) it is off a s2, but will it fit my s3? thanks,

p.s if any body wants to get rid off or sell a pit for a s3 plz get in touch

Countrylad, as far as I know the series 2 and 2a pto gearbox will fit the series 3. I know a few farmers here used them for powering a roller vane pump for spraying blackberries, does the deal include the pto drive shaft?
They seem to be getting a bit hard to find here now, last one I heard of the vendor was hoping to get $600 for the complete unit.

Yes they fit, done it, I've got a Series 3 with a gearbox PTO powering an agricultural take-off mounted on the rear X-member. Series 2/3 PTOs are interchangeable, and dead easy to fit. I got mine off freeads (www.freeads.co.uk) and paid £140 for the gearbox end, drive shaft and the additional small gearbox & safety guards that sits on the rear X-member. Seen just the gearbox end changing hands for £30-£50 on eBay, but very few examples of the whole kit. Good luck if you haven't found one already.
