HI,being new to the world of landrovers i have just purchased a freelander for my wife and dogs,unfortunately it has the prop removed to make it 2 wheel drive.My question is that i want it back as a 4x4 can i just fit a prop.or do i have to do or fit anything else.i have worked on cars for years but this is something i have never done.would be grateful for any advice.

Hi Richard, and welcome to LandyZone.

Do a search for VCU and the VCU mounts / bearings - there is lots to read because folks often remove the prop to hide other transmission faults like the IRD and the rear diff.

There's load of info on here if you search.

Get yourself a Haynes manual - you'll need it. :rolleyes:

Beware - introduce yourself before the rough tough tratters find another noobie.

How old is the Freelander, what model, petrol or diesel. :confused:
