Finally got my new wide angle rear prop and it came with a full set of bolts which is handy as the old ones are donald ducked. Problem is i took the handbrake drum off and then the huge lock nut on the end of the output shaft but don't understand how to get the flange off that the 4 studs go through.

Any suggestions? It's doing my bloody nut in! cheers Harry

Use a puller, screw it down on to the shaft with the arms pulling on the flange. It won't take too much to get it off. One you get it off, you're going to have to take off the big circlip/snapring before you can get the bolts out.

nb. Use a puller like this, or a three jaw one:

ah yeah, you want to remove all that first. Undo the linkage from the hand brake cable too. I think it's 4 bolts to remove the mud shield thing, and then you should be able to get the rest of it off.

Thanks for all the help guys, did it really easily, whip the handbrake drum off, undo the huge locknut the just stick the puller on and it slides off. Once it was off you just have to juggle with a big circlip on the flange and hey presto. Thankfully all the bangs and clunks have gone too!...was preparing for a new gearbox :)
