Hello every one, I picked up a freelander 3door 1.8 16v on t reg and its 2wd at the mo I would like to get it back to 4wd has anybody got a vcu amd 2 props kicking aroumd they would like to sell? Also is it an easy job?

Let's hope your IRD is still capable of 4WD and your differential is ok!

You can buy new/refurbed VCUs for about £300-£400. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Freelander-Brand-New-GKN-Viscous-Coupling-Unit-VCU-/131050587979
You'll need a pair of support bearings as well, expect £40 each. GKN seem to last better: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rove...Bearing-Mount-GKN-x2-TOQ000040G-/370781431274
The front and rear prop you can buy on Ebay - make sure the universal joints are ok and the gaiter on the front one isn't split.

- Rear: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-FREELANDER-REAR-PROPSHAFT-LOW-MILAGE-/221321356297
Of course you'll also need the bolt set. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVE...IT-BOLTS-NUTS-WASHERS-VCU-BOLTS-/220945074597
It's a fairly easy job though!

Good luck :)
