Figured some of you maybe interested in my 90 and now the small project that it has become

i bought it back in october last year from a auction in Kelso in the scottish boarders it has spent its life as the game keepers vehicle and has had one owner from new. It came with a full service history by land rover including a chassis change at two years old to a galvanised chassis all done at land rover. The only thing that let the landy down was the bulk head :(

covering 163k in its 19 years of life and being totally standard as the day it left the factory i have decided to keep it that way

as there is not just me and my other half we have my son two horses and a dog the 3 seats in the front can be a little cramped even when just me and my boy are out

so the decision was made to change the roof and get some rear bench seat fitted also this was easier said than done when there was only me and my 11 year old son

ifor canopy removed

as you can see from them pics it was well shagged so replacement panels were ordered from YRM and fitted after they cut away all the old rotten parts

One reason I got the van type, Space.

I've just got a 97 and been advised to waxoil/dinitrol that part from inside the cab with some small holes.

keep up the good work

i managed to purchase the roof and sides for £57 of eblag and was given a back door from a member of our local green lane forum there just wasnt enough space in the small cabin for all the junk we carry.

no way on earth would i attempt that bulkhead repair it was shot whilst it is in having that replaced it is also having a new battery box and sills before they carry out a full service front to back replacing anything that is worn on all the running gear.

next step after that is a trip to paint shop to have it sprayed back to landrover factory blue with the white roof and get the wheels shot blasted back to metal and sprayed the proper colour

Thanks fella's its getting there will take a little while yet one thing is a dead cert and that it is its staying totally standard as my lass drives it a lot whilst i am away and i just want it to be reliable for her

Well its finally in the paint shop whilst i am away for the week so at last it will be complete

several things have changed since the rebuild it now has a disco transfer box and i have had the roof lined for insulation gotta say it drives much better since the rebuild will post some new pics next week all going well :)

So its Finally finished and back from the paint shop

So thats it all done :)

Thanks for the update and pics... Looks great.
If you're feeling generous, would you also share what it cost both mechanically and then paint? Would be very interesting & useful to know. Cheers,

The paint job looks GREAT , I am just getting mine ready for a respray and that will be Blue , i really like the blue you used could you let me know the name and code as i might try a test area in it . Thanks , the whole Landy looks great , don't forget to lock it and nail it down !

Its caledonian blue which is a proper landy colour

The whole thing cost me 1500 for the rebuild that was a whole new seat box and bulk head rebuilt using new bits full engine service and both axels serviced and any bits replaced that were needed (diff pans, bearings, brakes front and rear, fitting of disco transfer box, steering replaced as needed.

Spray job was 1200 quid using 2k this was at mates rates tommy said he would do it again but would charge 2k for the job normally

Landy is factory spec 90 with galv chassie fitted by landrover genuine 200tdi me being the 3rd owner from new.

Big question is do i sell it now ?

Amazing what a new paint job can do. Looks almost brand new!

One thing that has put me off a repaint in a different colour is having to get the interior metal painted the same colour.

Did you get the paint shop to do the interior in blue as well, or is it the same colour as before?

Great project.

Well it's time to sell the landy just need to try and figure out a price for it now and advice or pointers appreciated
