Hi, how can I find out the production date of my Series 111?

i forgot to put the 'a' on the end!,it was still wrong though as i know mine was built in 1971.

phone dvla on 08702400010 and quote the reg.no.,they are usually able to tell you.

Rang them, didn't have a production date, as such, only say the date was rounded to end of 1983. Even though it was registered on the 08/12/83.

I have sell my old girl;

L@@K SERIES 111 LAND ROVER 109 FOR SALE on eBay, also, Land Rover Range Rover, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 27-Jul-08 20:00:00 BST)

and one of the bidders wants to ship her to the states, apparently they have favourable rules about importing vehicles over 25yrs old.

Hi,

Apparently, he read the date of registration 08/12/1983 as the 12th August 1983 (he's an American), as I have little space to keep the old girl for 3 months, had to relist her.

Such is life!

so he was only interested if it was registered during August 1983 and not if it was registered during December 1983 ?

Yep it has to meet the 25 year rule for importation into the US. The earliest 110's do now and are fetching ridiculous amounts of money. Expect minimum £4k for a good clean original 110 and they pay the shipping fees as well.

Correct, though he was willing to buy it, if I could keep it for 3 months, as the date of manufacture is 18/11/83. Just don't have the space, nor do I really need the worry of looking after someone else's vehicle for that long.

Such is life; back on ebay.
