:confused: my battery has going flat after 2 days standing ive being looking throught this website for tips(what a great site by the way everyones so helpful)and they say it could be the receiver so i unpluged it and 2 days later the battery still fully charged nice one.my problem now is it will turn over but will not start the landrover expert puts his computer on and says the numbers did not match up and pressed some buttons and it started this has happen three times now 40 quid a time.could the receiver be causing this problem and is there any way i could do something to get it started

As I understand it - early Range Rovers were very prone to this fault and should have the receiver replaced.

Have yu tried searching in this forum?

look at this and this

Replace your RF receiver from the old defective original part AFR1953 which is subject to battery drains and engine lock outs to part number: YWY500170 which eliminates these issues and stops the cars RF receiver from being bombarded with spurious RF signals from CCTV in car parks etc that will lock you out your car, drain its battery and immobilise your engine.
