problem with injector pump

first of all merry xmas to everybody, I am having a strange problem with injector pump in that if left for a couple of days the pump seems to drain itself of diesel, once bled she will fire up and run ok, have checked for any leaks from connectors etc and all is ok, could diesel leak past the driveshaft end into the engine, I know there is a seal in the bottom of the pump body that the drive shaft goes through and after many miles wear makes a groove in the shaft. its a 2.25 engine

Prob a one way valve in the lift pump is kaput...last time I had this prob...the seal had just popped out of its seat.

If its leaking into the engine, you would see/ smell it in the oil. If theres no obvious leaks its probably going back to tank like nickjaxe says
