problem with immobiliser

I have a 1995 300tdi Disco and I have a problem with the immobiliser. I can only start the disco when the drivers door is shut but opening the door when the engine is running does not cause it to stop. The alarm light on the dash flashes when the engine is running but does stop when the drivers door is opened. Does anyone have any ideas?

i would just get a spyder bypass adaptor , from the local main stealers about £7 sounds like your spider is playing up its located behind the radio and fan controls unless you want to take it out and resolder all the joints on it , im only guessing this is the problem mind

18 mths ago I had trouble with the disco not starting so i got a spyder bypass adaptor have you heard of these going wrong?
It all started this time after i put a new battery on, the disco was without a battery for 6hrs.

the bypass plug cant go wrong it basically bypasses the immobiliser so it dont work everyfing else works though central locking is unaffected

ok thx i will take another look may b i did not make a full connection when putting it back because u know what a pain in the ass it is getting to.
