Hey Up Guys

I've got a 53-plate Freelander 5-door - and yesterday I started getting a problem closing one of the rear doors. Upon investigation:eek: I have found that the strap (the check strap?) on the rear door, that comes from within the door pillar, is moving within it's mount. In other words it looks like whatever is fixing it to the inside of the pillar has broken off. I now have a door that will not close properly, and is denting the inside of the pillar when it does close.

I have spoken to my local dealer who suggested that it was exactly what I already knew - the check strap - and that they could not fix this as it is a job for a 'body shop'. This begs 2 questions - 1. this looks like a huge job!! How much is this gonna cost? and 2. if it were still under Warranty would the dealer still turn me away?

thanks in advance.....

I Would Try Another Dealer To See If You Get The Same Answer Because If It Is A Big Job Dealers Don't Usually Turn Mega Money Away I Would Say.
