Hi all
I have encountered a problem...I have had new rear crossmember fitted and new bulkhead out riggers. The man who welded it is a superb welder and a landy nut, so I trust his work.
I have fitted the rear tub, bulkhead and when I went to fit the roof that's when I found alignment issues, ie the roof to windscreen was very out.
And as you would expect the doors will not fit when held up in place:doh:

I am not sure it the rear x member is 'up' by 10mm thus making the tub not sit right and making the doors not fit.
Or, the b/head o/riggers not quite right thus making the b/head not square.

I have discovered that if I remove the 4 long bolts on either side of the chassis fixing the b/head, and applying the help of a ratchet strap I can 'square up' the bulkhead and align the doors, if i re-drilled the mounting bracket then that would hold b/head square.
But I feel I may have further issues with the attachment of the wings.

What are your feeling on this 'issue'? do you reckon my method of squaring up the landy will work?

cheers guys.
I already tried to remove the shims, that got me a bit of play, not enough though.
Glad to hear someone else has, encountered and passed this 'hiccup' makes me feel a whole lot better:D
Was worried for a sec, thought I'd have to take it all apart and get it re welded, what a palavah:doh:

It worked fantastically!
Now the doors close like they used to..not very well./.BUT.. they close:D AND they its all square(ish) again:biggrin1:
And to celebrate I re fitted the dash, doors and got it running. yay:p
Those 3 things, especially the dash, made me swear:mad:
But I feel satisfied now, and can endure a whole 4 days back at work ready for more next weekend:rolleyes:
