Must be a rare old thing, plus the military backgorund, means someone will buy and restore that.

Squirt of easy start and that’ll rip in to life. Plus having been in service with the RAF it will have had an easy (er) life ;) the only betterer ones are the RN which will have had an easierer life again ;)

It didn’t sell for £3000, I wonder what the reserve was. I’ve had a look and previous Rapier 127s have sold for £7500-£13000, so more than an average 127, but not ultra-rare money. There’s just way too much work involved, plus the finding of non-standard parts to make that thing worth more than £1500, just my opinion of course.

My P38 is ex RAF. Then it was bought by a farmer...

Apparently winning bid £3000 o_O It does seem crazy that a pile of crusty metal is worth £3k but the whole classic/historic market has gone crazy these past 18-24mths. Any of you keep an eye on the Silverstone NEC Auction this w/e? There are some beyond stellar prices at the hammer...

KINELL, indeed. The markets have been strong for so long now, I'm battening down the $$$quidlet hatches ready for a general market downturn 2022-to-2023/2025...corporate investment is in the market [not direct into business], house prices need cooling off in UK, US, most of the EU and Australia. China's near bankrupt with most major construction halted, house prices falling and businesses defaulting daily on commercial loans. Both China and Russia have been investing many $100's billions in Gold throughout 2021 predicting a Black Swan, interest rates and inflation are on the up with cheap finance soon to be yesterday's news...and even worse, some fool has just ****ed away £40k on this hair dresser fantasy o_Oo_Oo_O
