More accurately is there anything extra you would do while replacing the valley gasket on a V8?
Obviously change the anti-freeze and perhaps the serpentine belt. My RR is a 4.6 2001 MY and has 112k on it and runs OK as far as I can tell. Did a check for faults on the Motronic fault code memory (Thor) and found these:
THE MOTRONIC FAULT CODE MEMORY CONTAINS CODES FOR THE FOLLOWING CURRENT FAULTS -:
P1000 = ADDITIVE ADAPTIVE MIXTURE CORRECTION TRA BANK 1 DRIVE CYCLE B, WHICH HAS OCCURED 35 TIMES
(SIGNAL TOO LOW, THE FAULT IS CURRENTLY PRESENT, THIS FAULT CAUSES MIL LAMP ACTIVATION, THE FAULT HAS BEEN DETERMINED AS INTERMITTENT).
P0175 = ADDITIVE ADAPTIVE MIXTURE CORRECTION TRA BANK 2 DRIVE CYCLE B, WHICH HAS OCCURED 28 TIMES
(SIGNAL TOO LOW, THE FAULT IS CURRENTLY PRESENT, THIS FAULT CAUSES MIL LAMP ACTIVATION, THE FAULT HAS BEEN DETERMINED AS INTERMITTENT).
P0175 = MIXTURE ADAPTION FACTOR FRA BANK 2 DRIVE CYCLE C, WHICH HAS OCCURED 191 TIMES
(SIGNAL TOO HIGH, THE FAULT IS CURRENTLY NOT PRESENT, THIS FAULT CAUSES MIL LAMP ACTIVATION, THE FAULT HAS BEEN DETERMINED AS INTERMITTENT).
P0172 = MIXTURE ADAPTION FACTOR FRA BANK 1 DRIVE CYCLE C, WHICH HAS OCCURED 123 TIMES
(SIGNAL TOO HIGH, THE FAULT IS CURRENTLY NOT PRESENT, THIS FAULT CAUSES MIL LAMP ACTIVATION, THE FAULT HAS BEEN DETERMINED AS INTERMITTENT).
Could these errors be caused by dirty / failing injectors? Or possibly MAF or other sensor issue?
How would you clean the injectors or send them away for cleaning / testing?
Thanks,
Carl....
