Quick question before I buy the wrong one.

My nearside powerfold wing mirror is knackered. Lots of noise but little movement. I've seen a breakers ad for powerfold wing mirrors from a 2001 Freelander.
Mine is a 2004 post facelift model. Are the mirrors the same?
Some ads I've seen say they are, some say the're not.
Thanks,
Ash.

Quick update.
The mirror from the 2001 Freelander fitted my 2004 fine. Electrics are the same.

I have the same problem, but ive checked and its only 2 pins broken inside, tried to fix without success.

The rest is fine so anyone know where you can get just the motor from?

Hi All,

I had the same problem with my n/s powerfold mirror it would not fold out only by hand, what I did was to spray around the joint where the two parts meet with silicon spray, after a couple of days it's now working perfect again. It seems the top part of the mirror (the glass housing) sits on top of the part that is fixed to the car, I think there is some sort of rubber in between the joint that gets mucked up and stops it from working.

I had this problem, but on investigation I found one of the previous owners had screwed a 30mm self tapping screw up through the drain hole to keep it held out...

I removed the screw, pushed the button, it folded in. Pushed the button again and with lots of noise it stayed folded!

So I had to manually fold it out and re-insert the screw as a temporary measure.

Eventually got one of Ebay (avoid an ebayer called 2010blanche1991 - he takes your money and then ignores you - now thrown off ebay by Ebay I think)

Replacement now fitted and all is well. One more 'job to do' ticked off the list!
