Hi all, hope you can help me with a power steering problem i've got. My wife has just come home this afternoon after a 50 mile journey and there is a major problem with the steering. On first inspection there is loads of power steering fluid in the area below the box, so much so its dripping off underneath and covered everything on the way down. The pump itself makes a horrible noise if you try to turn the wheel. She told me that the steering went really heavy for a period and then came back somthing like but still made the noise all the way home. She also told me there were severe vibrations through the steering wheel at anything above 40. I've had a quick look but can't see where the fluid has come from. Any help / suggestions would be really appreciated.

I'd guess a hose has split near the steering box. If you can find it and repair it, you may get away with no lasting damage to anything else.
At least... Thats how simillar symptoms worked out with my old Alfa. Drive it for a couple of weeks before I repaired the hose.

Hi all, I seem to think i've found the problem, a leaking hose from the power steering pump. Has anyone out there ever changed the hoses and was it a: an easy job and b: how much do the hoses cost and where do you get them?

much appreciated

I know nowt about the L322, but if you get the faulty hose off, take it to a hydraulic specialist and they will make up a new one from yours cheaper than going to a stealer.
