power loss

hi there.
can any one give me any info on my freelander xedi , when im driveing it and take my foot off the thotle to change gear the red warning light comes on for a second and the car feels like its pulling and loses a bit of power then after that it starts going again and all so the revs are raceing abit when im slowing down and soon as i take my foot of the brake and cluch it gos back to normal revs . any info would be a help thanks

Have a look at the wiring loom that comes up around the front of the engine to the injector pump.They are prone to fraying and snapped conductors.With the engine idling in neutral,grab hold of the loom and twist and move it around - you may find that the engine will stop or falter,this will prove your problem.Then all you neeed to do is fix the loom.
