popping while freewheeling

changed my starter solenoid spark plugs points and the engine runs fine now except when you take your foot off throttle it pops alot until you put your foot back on throttle its 2 and aquarter petrol is this normal or is there something wrong

Running a bit rich or timing slightly out.

There's Chavs out there that spend good money to get that effect...

Mine does it if its a couple of degrees too advanced knock it back a touch and try again. You may find it goes better at full blast too when you've done that. Also, if it only does it sometimes the real octane level of fuels can vary quite a bit...
