after reading about this made a fix to make engine start, if u use relay as per previous posts cold start is enabled thus using more fuel unles u use a timed relay, my fix was to use a manual single gang switich a 2k resistor and some cable , takes 20 mins to do, mounted on/off toggle switich clos to ignition switch, on toggle switch solder one wire to center terminal, solder another wire to on of the outside terminals on switch n/c then solder 2k resistor to n/o to nc on switch, take the 2 wires to engine ecu cut blue grey wire and connect to each end, when engine is cold switch in off position engine works as before fix when engine is hot turn switch to on, turn on ignition wait for glow plug light to go out engine will start, engine will tick over slightly faster, then just turn switch to off engine rpm drop to normal, total cost from maplin £1.37 hope this helps

I'm not entirely convinced that this is a "fix". It might work, but it isn't solving the underlying problem.

i think the problem is a sensor or two has anybody had any changed? but what i have done remedies the problem with out effecting the ecu fuel map ie rich fuel mixture needed for cold start , on my car always used to take 15 to 20 seconds cranking to start when hot you would here a beep then would start now starts first turn of key a lot less embarassing to say the least.
