certainly sir, thats 45p please.

got to love homebrew. first keg ready today, and I must say it has vastly surpassed all expectations. Vastly, I say. sooo easy to make. and costs LESS than a quarter of the price than at the local. Happy days :)

I have a feeling these 40 pints aren't going to last long at all. best get the next brew on...

*hic*

cheers

which kit and how much hassle to make?????

if you want a bit more flavour swap some of the white sugar for brown, or a bit of black treacle, works wonders :)
no need to buy fancier/more expensive kits some good flavours can be had form the cheap stuff.
If you like a hoppier ale, get some dried hops and boil em up and use the water to add to the brew. :) hops is cheap...

used to do loads of beer and wine at one stage had 50 gallons of wine and 160 pint of beer on the go then we moved to ****wich and the water is no good for brewing:mad:
have been thinking of these gallon bottles of spring water lately take a bit out to freeze and water the whisky down, litre of orange juice, bag of sugar nice chablis yeast and a month later you have 8 bottles of better than most supermarket plonk for £3ish, sod thinking about it I am orf to Asda.

I'm interested ... can you expand on this? :)

Got the recipe from an old book from the 80's it is just a cheap throwing it down your neck sort of plonk, basically the recipe is as I said but for good measure a bit of yeast nutrient and citric acid would help. Be advised it can be a good idea to start off with only half the water, we once got the mixture so right that we came home to 10 gallons worth of foam coming down the stairs, that is a LOT of foam:D If you have good water you can make homebrew out of almost anything we once made an oak leaf Sauternes that was so sweet it was like sugar water and a hawthorn wine that was so dry it could clean a landies turbo but mix the two and Wow:D
