Hi my son has a freelander 1.8 petrol 1999. He took it out last night and was fine went to it later in evening and wouldn't undo with fob so used key, it now won't start the immoblizer lght stays on and nothing happens!! have put new battery in fob but still no luck. Will have to get the security code from somewhere or is there a fuse for this. Any suggestions please.

something to do with the fob. when there not working there will be a solid red light on the dash indicating the immobiliser is armed. have you not got a second fob to test ?

try taking the battery out of the fob /replace then use the key to open 'n'close the lock 5 times.
