Pattern, oe,Oem,britpart..... What's what what's best (all I know is that britpart should be called ****part) so what's the difference and more importantly what's best (sorry if its a beginner question but I guess you cleaver guys here can help out a young lad)
Thanks Ben :)

pattern are often cheap copies ,oe are original equipment same as genuine ,oem are original equipment manufacturer and are the same but boxed different,if you stick to genuine ,oe ,oem or well known quality aftermarket brand ,you wont go far wrong ,a timken bearing is the same quality in britpart box as lr one

Once again for all the hard of thinking.

Britpart are a distributor they don't make anything. They sell rubbish Chinese made copy parts who's only merit is price. They also sell OE and OEM parts which are just as good as and sometimes better than parts that come in Land Rover boxes, usually at very competitive prices. The trick with Britpart, especially for things like bearings and seals, is to look for the suffix (G) in the part numbers, this denotes the part as "genuine" i.e. OE or OEM.

Yep, but it is good advise.

JM's here now to extol the virtues of ****part;)
ive been bitten by britpart cheap pattern parts as much as anybody as with others pattern parts ,but it isnt there entire range ,and its wrong to give impression that it is as some do,unfortunately with ebay and some companies pressing for ever cheaper parts to compete with each other, quality suffers and range of parts available will shrink as britpart cant get a margin so no point, something i notice now ,upto recently anyone could buy from britpart same wholesale price giving a fair market but has been changing as big firms use there buying power between the 3 main wholesalers,i was talking to there rep the other week about it and it seems those that count wont pay to have reasonable stuff made, instead **** is which will eventually lead to no parts been made for the sake of a little money

there is a lot of rubbish out there so beware!
actually i bought 2 parts off the land rover dealer in Droitwich the other day, lots of polished marble and glass in the show room , and me in my overalls leaving dirty finger marks on the cars.......
