Parking sensors

Hi, I'm new here and hoping for some help. I've just bought a Freelander 2 (2007) and I'm trying to work my way through the issues.

Todays issue: When I get in the car & put it in reverse the p sensors are very loud, but its a constant noise and doesn't stop until i turn them off.

Any ideas?

Is it a constant tone, or a series of beeps?
If constant, then are the sensors dirty? Also is it a high or low tone, as both front and rear sensors active when reverse is selected?
If the sensors are clean, and you're not parked near something, then have a diagnostic run on the PDC module, as it's likely got a failed sensor or sensors.

We had a LDV Deliver9 camper returned to the yard the other day that had got stuck in a freedom camping site. Someone threw a rope around the end of the bumper to help pull them out, which they did.

The end of the bumper is a bolt on steel tube that bends around the corner of the van, and it bent it. We didn't have any Deliver9 bumper ends, but did have V80 ones. Rather than wrap around, they bend up - but the mounting bracket's the same, so it fitted and looked OK, so the mechanic replaced both.

I jumps in the van to take it down the LDV dealer for some warranty work on the engine, bung it in reverse and immediately the parking sensors are beeping at me (nothing behind the van). It gets out to have a look at what's going on and the bumper end is now bending up and is covering the parking sensor
