Paint job

I`m thinking of touching up a few scratches on my defender (around the bumpers & tow bar etc)...
What paint do you recomend?
I`ve got a half tin of black Hammerite somewhere. Do you think that`ll do?

Hammerite smooth should do the trick.

Have you used it recently in it's "new" formulation?
It's pretty naff now and does not cover well at all IMHO.
Still good for "heavy" use areas like foot steps and underneath, but for on show hand paint I use international Japlac as sold in Focus. Shiney and hard but would chip on a front bumper.

I've heard 2 pac enammel if thats how it's spelt, is good for axles so it should be ok for bumpers

ive just painted my bumper using black hammerite (new formation). First I filed off all the rust, then applied red oxide primer, then hammerited it, looks good!

i used wrought iron gate paint on my whole chassis it looks great
