my rangie has just cut out on me twice today it has not done it before i have towed my caravan 150 miles no probs two days ago not a thing wrong went like a dream went into a large town stop start loads of traffic it cut out loads of faults on the dash, traction control, airbag, gearbox, air filter, after five mins or so it started as if nothing had happend and ran till i parked up did some shopping it did it again after stop starting in heavy traffic same faults on the dash, called the aa they put their diognostc plug in and no faults had been logged on the cars computer they say it could be a relay any one had probs the same or any thorts thanks

exactly the same problem here.
fault i get are abs, traction, abs, airbag and max 35mph.

AA, also came out, did inspection and put on their diagnostics-all clear.

The car is at my local Land Rover Specilist - Their diagnostic machine also found no fault, but when trying to enter into the BECM/applications area, it threw them out.

Now i'm stuck...got to collect the car, with no answer to whats wrong with it.
Prob gonna have to sell as is; spent too much on it already!

I hope you have more luck!

Main fuse box in the engine bay. They are prone to corrosions and melted connections. Dont mess about, get a new one they are not that expensive from the main dealer.

I have an old 4ltr one in at the mo,exactly the same symptoms. In this case its the crank sensor failing when it gets hot, watching its output on the scope its perfect when its cold, but fades to almost nothing when hot.
Just a thought.....

I had exactly the same symtoms on my Honda Legend - 3 weeks delivery on the sensor - that is why I changed to a Landy

I recently has same stalling problems. No relevant error codes recorded. Main dealer found nothing and asked be to take it away!!

Turned out to be crank sensor. There only about £30 plus a couple of hours labour...

If it's the crank sensor you will find that when it wont start there will be no spark.

thanks for your help the cutting out has turned out to be the ignition relay in the main fusebox the aa could not find the problem and it will not show as a logged fault or become apparent on diagnostics a bit of listening and a careful feel of the relays i found one clicking very faint so i swapped the one behind it and the car has run fine ever since bough a couple of spares at the local dealers yellow ones about £7 and the green ones about £9 you can interchange the sane colour relays it will get you going just check under the fusebox lid to see what you can live without
