has anyone noticed the amount of movement of the throttle pedal?
it seems excessive! theres no faults with mine but i just seems to have to go a very long way from idle to full!
has anyone done a mod to this, i would guess all you need is a smaller diameter throttle cam that the cable goes round?
anyone?

thanks, how thoughtfull. made me grin.

i press and press for kick down and start to think theres something wrong till i realise im not even at half throttle, theres an amazing amount of travel compared to the other 3 cars i own!

Right-we've determined that all is secure and there is no slack in the cable, also it idles at the correct tickover speed when the pedal is released and when the pedal is down to the floor maximum revs. are achieved. This in mind, what's the problem as the cable is a fixed link between the pedal and the throttle butterfly valve and you are saying all is secure.
Should you not be asking instead "what is the height of the pedal from the floor when at rest????"
Time for the guys on the forum to get the rulers out and measure theirs??????? (pedal to floor-I mean):D :D :D :D :D :D :D

range rover 4 inches, dont seem much but
rover cabriolet 2.5 inches
omega 2.5 inches
toyota supra 2.5 inches

so it is nearly double my other cars!!
i tend to put my foot down as far as i think i shoud, not to the floor which is prob why i have this problem, 4" dont seem much but it nearly double the others!
 
Obviously you have not adopted the correct driving style for a RR yet, which is: dignified and sophisticated acceleration with a noble impression on your face looking on the other drivers from above. ;)

On these cars you really need to mean it when you floor the pedal. It hurts the ankle if do it all the time. :D
 
My dse has noticeably long pedal travel compared to my classic V8 but is not as bad as my old merc E200 auto. That was a pain to get it to kick down.
 
Hi Redrange-I've had the rule on mine and it measures approx. 80mm from the carpet (Loose mats removed)-measured vertically-to the throttle pedal at the seat end.
Is yours bigger than mine????????????????
(Must admit I had a few Guinness last night so allowances have to be made)
