Hi Guys,

I have a p38 4.0 106k, started to overheat.
Drivers side of the radiator is cool, passenger side is hot and top hose is getting pressurised.
I took the pipe from the expansion to the radiator off and no water is getting through.
Will the pressurisation of the top hose be due to a blocked rad?
Help is much appreciated

clean the little pipe off as this is how it gets rid of any trapped air that is forced to the top of the rad, if the rad is airlocked at the top it could cause problems, i would however get a hydrocarbon/sniffer test done just to rule out slipped liners!

having been through this myself, i would deffo recomend you get it looked at as soon as you can!

see my post p38 sudden overheat which was posted on 13/06/09. now have car back after head gaskets done, heads skimmed 10000thou and new cam shaft sensor fitted.126000 on clock and running like a swiss watch. most definatly get hydro carbon test done before you do anything else..best of luck from n.ireland..
